Popup-windows and Session State

When you have a popup window open and you terminate the process of your browser, since the popup windows keep session-state data, you will not be able to return to your session. This is a limitation of the product.

To access Redwood Server the following is required:

  • a username/password with appropriate authorizations.
  • a URL.

The URL has the following syntax http://<hostname>:<port>/redwood

  • <hostname> is the hostname of the system where Redwood Server is installed.
  • <port> is the HTTP port of the system.
note

If a pop-up blocker is installed, you should configure it to always allow pop-up windows from the URL of Redwood Server. Refer to the documentation of your pop-up blocker if you are unsure how to proceed.

Procedure

  1. Enter the URL into the browser's address bar. A pop up window that requires a username and password to log-on with appears.
  2. If a pop-up blocker is installed, a blank page with Please log in gets loaded, choose Please log in.
  3. Enter the username and password.
