Creating Applications

Applications are used to group objects used to group other objects in a hierarchy; they can be nested inside one another.

Procedure

To create an application:

  1. Choose Applications.
  2. From the context-menu of the left-hand side bar, choose New Application.
  3. Fill in the necessary information, refer to the values below.

Values

  • Name - The name of the application.
  • Parent Application - The name of the application that contains this application.
  • Description - The description of the application.
  • Documentation - A comment about the application.

Example

  1. Choose Applications in the Navigation bar.
  2. From the context-menu, choose New Application, then fill in the values below.
  3. Choose Save & Close to save the new application and close the edit window.
Name: EMEA_DataWareHouse
Parent Application: [none]
Description: Data warehouse for EMEA
Documentation: This application is used to group all objects related to the EMEA Data Warehouse.
