Redwood Server OS Support

Redwood Server supports process automation across a wide range of operating systems. Apart from Windows and the various UNIX flavors, Redwood Server also supports HP OpenVMS, IBM AS/400. HP OpenVMS support is native, that is a platform agent is installed on the system. You use the FTP interface to JES to schedule jobs. IBM AS/400 is supported via a Java library provided by IBM, no software needs to be installed on the AS/400 system; you can install the AIX jtool tools on an AS/400 with PASE.

The following license keys govern which functionality is licensed to you. You can check your license by navigating to Configuration > License Keys.

These process servers require the following keys, respectively:

  • ProcessServerService.VMS.limit - the total number of VMS process servers
  • ProcessServerService.JCL_FTP - boolean key that enables z/OS process servers using the FTP interface to JES
  • ProcessServerService.AS400.limit - the total number of VMS process servers
