Importing Communication Channels via PI/XI

You import communication channels to be able to select the correct communication channel when you submit Redwood Server process definitions.

The following process definition allows you to import communication channels:

  • SAP_PI_ImportChannels

Parameters

  • SAP System - The SAP system you want to import the archive objects from
  • Channel Name - The name of the channel, patterns with wildcard characters accepted, valid wildcard characters are *, ?, % and _
  • Channel Service - The service of the channel, patterns with wildcard characters accepted
  • Channel Party - The channel party, patterns with wildcard characters accepted
  • Drop old selection? - Allows you to delete previously imported archive objects

Prerequisites

  • You switched to external control in the Communication Channel Monitor.
  • You configured Redwood Server to connect to the PI interface of your SAP instance, this is outlined in the Controlling Communication Channels with Redwood Server via PI/XI

Procedure

Importing archive objects

  1. Navigate to "Definitions > Processes".
  2. Choose Submit from the context-menu of the process definition SAP_PI_ImportChannels.
  3. Select a target SAP system and fill in a Channel Name.
  4. Choose Submit.

Example

  1. Navigate to "Definitions > Processes".
  2. Choose Submit from the context-menu of the process definition SAP_PI_ImportChannels.
  3. Select the SAP System PR1 and fill MyChannel into the Channel Name field; leave the other parameter at the default value.
  4. Choose Submit.
