Usage Data Collection

Redwood Server now allows you to send usage data to Redwood Software to evaluate the degree of automation you have reached and help improve Redwood Server. The data does not contain any definition names or parameter values, for example. The data will be used exclusively by Redwood Software to both improve Redwood Server and help you optimize your investment, the latter only if you instruct Redwood to do so.

When an administrator logs in, Redwood Server will explicitly ask for consent prior to sending any such information to Redwood servers. If you select either Yes or No, no further dialog requesting consent will be displayed.

The answer is stored in the registry under /configuration/usagedata/check - the registry entry takes the values true or false, false meaning you have declined to send usage data to Redwood Software.

Collected Data

Data that is collected:

  • Anonymous usage data about manual changes that have been made. (for example, how often do you cancel a process)
  • Quantitative data about the system, for example the sizes of various tables or process retention statistics.
  • Information about the product and landscape, for example the product version number and database vendor/version.

No identifying data from the system is sent to Redwood, for example names of definitions, or parameter values, are not sent to Redwood.
