Privileges Required to use Datum Definitions

To use Datum Definitions you need one of the following:

  • scheduler-administrator or redwood-administrator role
  • system or partition-level permissions on the alert source and on Datum Definition
  • object-specific privileges on the object and system or partition-level permissions on Datum Definition
note

Datum Definitions are properties of objects and as such you require permissions on the mother-object as well.

Using Datum Definitions

The following privilege ranks are available on Datum Definitions:

  • Create - allows you to create a Datum Definition on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition), you have no further privileges through this rank, you automatically get All privilege rank on Datum Definitions you create.
  • View - allows you to view a Datum Definition on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition), you have no further privileges through this rank.
  • Edit - allows you to create, view, and edit a Datum Definition on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition).
  • Delete - allows you to create, view, and delete a Datum Definition on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition).
  • All - full control over a Datum Definition on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition).

You always need View privileges on the partition of the Datum Definition.

Datum Definitions can reference the following object, you need at least View privileges on this object as well as its partition when you want to create/edit/delete a Datum Definition that references it:

  • Application.

Creating Datum Definitions

You need one of the following privilege ranks to be able to create Datum Definitions:

  • Create - allows you to create Datum Definitions on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition), you have no further privileges through this rank, you automatically get All privilege rank on Datum Definitions you create.
  • Edit - allows you to create, view and edit all Datum Definitions on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object).
  • Delete - allows you to create, view, manage and delete all Datum Definitions and Datum Definitions on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object).
  • All - full control over all Datum Definitions and Datum Definitions on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition, object).

Editing Datum Definitions

To successfully edit an Datum Definition, you must have at least one of the following privileges:

  • Edit - privilege rank on the Datum Definition, or on Datum Definition in its partition or system-wide.
  • All - privilege rank on the Datum Definition, or on Datum Definition in its partition or system-wide.
