Privileges Required to use Imports

To use imports, you need one of the following:

  • scheduler-administrator or redwood-administrator role
  • system or partition-level permissions
  • object-specific privileges

Privileges for the following objects are derived from the import privileges:

  • Import Rule Definition
  • Import Source

Built-in Roles

  • The scheduler-administrator or redwood-administrator built-in role provides full control over Imports.
  • The scheduler-viewer built-in role provides read-only access to Imports.

Creating Imports

You need all of the following privilege ranks to be able to create imports:

  • All - full control over all imports on the level the privilege was granted (system, partition).
  • Submit - on the System_Import_Archive process definition.
  • Process Administrator (JobAdministrator) - on the System queue.
  • View - on the GLOBAL partition as well as on the System process server.
  • View - on the Cronacle Archive (CAR) format.
note

For each object you wish to import, you must have sufficient privileges to create/edit the object! This requires the import user to have at least Edit privileges on the object and View privileges on all other objects the object is referring to. The import user is the user creating the import, by default; this is overridden by the value of the /configuration/import/RunAsUserregistry entry, if set.
